Question
I have a rifle that was given to me by a family remember and nothing about it. Underside the barrel are very faint letters that read OVIFDO SPAIN M1916 SAMCO MIA FL 308W. It has a range finder that flips up with the numbers 2 thru 20 that run down with a spring loaded lock that you can set. It is a bolt action rifle. Can you tell me where it came from, how old and if there is any value to it? Thank you.
Answer
Hello Dennis,
Oviedo is a company in spain that produced the M1916 as a shorter version of another rifle for the spanish army. These saw no service and were imported by Samco Global Arms out of Miami Florida. They still sell the same exact gun for 169.00 in very good condition and 179.00 in "Select special condition". Here is a link to there site and the gun you own.
