Question
I have a Hawes Western Six Shooter, single action pistol. It has pearl handles on it with (2) cylinders. One cylinder shoots .22 and .22 LR. The second cylinder shoots .22 magnum only. It is a model 67 with a Serial Number of 65591. I purchased it new and am the original owner. It has fired about 100-150 rounds through it.I keep it clean after each use. It is in very good condition. I had the handles replaced with imitation pearl handles. Can you tell me the approximate value of this gun? Do you have any more information about this gun? Or when/where it was manufactured? I would appreciate any knowledge you might have about it. Thank you.
Answer
Hawes firearms were manufactured by J.P. Sauer & Sohn in Eckernforde, Germany and then imported by Hawes into the U.S. They started importing guns after 1960 and the value of a .22 revolver in good condition is about 150-200 dollars retail. You could realistically expect 150 dollars for it.
