old inherited pump shotgun.

Question
I recently inherited two old 12 gage shotguns from my grandfather who passed away. to say there a little rusted is an understatement. However the first one is a pump made by the National Firearms Co. serial# 133327. The second is a single shot that breaks open to load, made by the Stevens Arms & Tool Co. Chicopee Falls Mass. Can't find a serial # on the Stevens. There both just keepsakes, but I would like to find a reputible place to get them repaired and refinished as well as find out when they were made. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Answer
Hello Joe,
Where do you live? The best place to look is somewhere right in your area, I am sure there is a gunsmith or gunshop somewhere close by? As for the date of the weapons, the Stevens was made before 1968 as evident by the absence of a serial number. The National firearms co. is a brand name used by marlin to sell budget priced shotguns during that time. Marlin should be able to help you date the weapon in question, but there were so many made it is impossible to track the age of a weapon that has no collectors value. They do not put out info for these guns like they should. Sounds like a nice pair to have refurbished, Let me know if I can help you any further!!
