Question
I just bought a 67 f springfield savage arms 20 gage shot gun. I was wondering the year it was made and the value of it . Thanks
Answer
Steve,
I hope you didn't pay very much for it. These were a utilitarian line of shotguns made from the mid-1960s to mid-1980s. They are not considered collectable at all. Some of the early models were decent shooter if you are looking for a beater shotgun or what I refer to as a 'barn shotgun'. In the late 70s, Savage let their quality control on these shotguns fall to the point that some of the ones that were made in the 80s basically did not work even when brand new.
If there is a serial number on the gun, it was made after 1968. Without additional info, I can't date it any closer that I have already told you above. In pristine condition I would not pay more than $200 with under $150 being a more reasonable price for a gun in good to very good condition.
Like I said...I hope you didn't pay very much for it.
Hope this helps...
