Answer
Tapan,
Sorry I can't help you out. I have checked all the cross reference lists and these do not show a Western Field Model 149. Most of the Western Field bolt action shotguns were made by Mossberg. The most frequently seen Mossberg bolt action shotgun in 20 gauge is the Model 85. You might want to check with a company called Numrich Gun Parts. Their website is http://www.gunpartscorp.com
They may be able to tell you if a Model 85 magazine will fit your gun. I don't think there were any larger capacity magazines made. Three rounds was typical of many hunting shotguns as states often had legal limits of three round capacity (2 in magazine and one in the chamber) for hunting shotguns.
As far as shooting it, I think you could probably shoot bird shot through it, but I would not shoot any buckshot or slugs until you have the gun checked out by a competent gunsmith. The gun is probably 50-60 years old and should be checked out.
Sorry I can't be more helpful...

Doug Little
