Answer
Hello Ken,
Value depends first on condition followed by originality. Your Browning Olympian Grade rifle was made in 1961. The "1" preceding the "x" tells us 1961. The .30-06's are one of the most common calibers in the Olympian Grades. The recoil pad was most likely an after market add on as they originally came with the bone butt plates unless ordered with a pad. IF the stock has not been cut you can still find butt plates and restore it to original condition, but most likely it has been cut. Without the recoil pad the .30-06's are generally bringing $6800-$7250 in 100% condition and 100% original. The pad will reduce the price. If you would like more information, feel free to call me at 417-830-5588 and I will try to help you. Best wishes.
Jim
