Your hard to get ahold of. sent a pic last week but I knid of new it was going to the wrong place. Thanks for any info you can give me also if you could tell me what I should insure it for.
Thanks Bruce

Answer
Hello Bruce. I am quite sure that this gun was a special order from a well known maker of double rifles. I have no other information about the history of this gun. There were German settlements on the continent of Africa well before WWII. This could have come from there. The metal blocks on top are most likely for mounting a scope. Possibly, this is the reason for the raiseable cheek piece. The only way I could tell more would be to hold it in my own hands. I make it a habit not to give insurance appraisals, and this time is no different. I will refer you to www.gunsinternational.com. Sign in to double rifles. You will find several hundred to look at. The asking price of most of the sellers there should give you a fair estimate for insurance. I hope you find what you need and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
