Question
QUESTION: Mr Gage;
I have come across this website while looking up info on a gun. I seen that you have helped another guy with the same gun, and that your the guy that should be able to give me the answers I'm looking for as well. I have an old H&R Arms 922 pistol that I'm trying to find out about how old it is. There is no serial number. Under the grip there is the letter L. I was told that it was my stepfathers daddys gun, and my stepfather passed away in 2000 at the age of 80. The gun does have a little rest on it, and I was thinking about getting it all redone. Very much looking forward to your reply. Thank you so much sir. William Bell
ANSWER: Hello William Bell. Your H&R 922 was manufactured, according to the 'L' under the grip, in 1951. It is a very well built revolver, and having it redone would be a good idea. Just make sure it is done by a qualified gunsmith or refinisher. I hope this answers your question and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage

QUESTION: Mr. Gage
How much do you think is a fare price to have this revolver refinished by a very qualified gunsmith ? It also needs new grips on the gun. Thanks so very much. William Bell
Answer
Hello William Bell. I checked Bob's Gun Shop web site (www.gun-parts.com) and he shows the two piece grips for a 922 at $30 a set. You can also check with Numrich Gun Parts. They may have them, also. As far as refinishing your 922, you can check on-line for gun shops advertising that service. Again, I thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
