Stevens 410

QUESTION: My husband has a Stevens 410 over and under with dual hammers and dual triggers and plastic stock.  He has had this since he was a small child and he is 69 now.  He has been told that it was never made, however: it is not altered in any way and it is obvious that it came from the factory this way.  Could you please let me know about the gun and what the value might be?  Thank you so very much for any information you might afford us.

ANSWER: The sounds like a Stevens .22/.410
The stock is Tenite (plastic)
It was made from 1939 to 1950.
Its worth $100 to $350 condition.

QUESTION: thank you for that information, however: the gun is a .410 on both the top and bottom the hammers are side by side, the triggers are one in front of the other & it does not have a barrel selector. the breach appears to be a colored metal, maybe some type copper and the forearm is also plastic. model #240 ?? thanks again for any assistance.

So its Model 240 helps it should look like this;

They came with either a tenite or walnut stock.
The model 240 was made from 1939 to 1942.
26" inch barrel with full choke in both.
The book value its worth $150 to $400 depending on condition.
Tenite stock actually  adds $25 in value as very few were made.
I have people on Gunbroker & Gunsamerica ask as much as $800.
I do not know if got the asking price or not.
These are beginning to have some collectors interest.
The over design is not real good. Accident discharges can happen easily side by side exposed hammers.
It ok for on gun range but do not recommend hunting with it.

Sorry for confusion earlier. Tenite stocks were common on the Stevens .22/.410.
(same stock on your gun its interchangeable) However very few model 240 had tenite stocks.
Handful were made at the very end of production.
