Question
I have a Hawthorne/Warrior Model 150B 410ga. 3inch. I wanted to know if there was any way to tell what year it was made?

Answer
Jeremy,

The Hawthorne brand was a house brand for the old Ward's department store chain.  It was actually made by Mossberg and corresponds to their Model 183K-B shotgun.  The Mossberg 183 series was made between 1948 and 1985.  Prior to the passage of the Gun Control Act of 1968, long arms were not required to have serial numbers.  I'm pretty sure that Mossberg shotguns made prior to 1968 did not have a serial number since my pre-1968 Mossberg 500 does not.

Therefore, if your gun has a serial number, it was post 1968.  If not, it is pre-1968.  Unless you have other information, that is probably the best I can give you...

Sorry I can't be more helpful, but there is just no information out there.

Best regards,

Doug Little
