Question
QUESTION: Hello,
I have inherited a Haenel pellet pistol. It is a model 28,cal 4.5. What is interesting to me is that it is marked "made in Germany". I assume that means it is pre-WW2. It has a wooden handle and is in very good condition. Is this valuable. Thanks for your help.
ANSWER: Hello Charlie.
Yes, your Haenel Model 28 was manufactured in Suhl, Germany from 1928 to 1940. 4.5mm is .177cal., so it won't be hard to find ammo. It is a very well built pistol and fairly accurate to 10 meters. The muzzle velocity is approximately 225-250f.p.s. As a value, The Blue Book of Airgun Values shows from 50% at $50.00 to 90% at $250.00 The actual selling prices I have found on several Internet gun sales sites seem to be between $100 to $175, depending on condition.
I hope this has answered your questions and thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage

QUESTION: How would I go about selling this pellet pistol over the internet? And, how do you ship something like this without causing a fuss at the post office? Thanks.
Answer
Hello,again,Charlie.
There are many firearm sales and auction sites on the Internet. I have used the following; www.gunsinternational.com , www.gunsamerica.com , www.gunbroker.com and www.auctionarms.com. You must register for these, and some may have a small service fee.
For shipping, ask one of the Experts who has legal experience with firearms. If the USPS will not allow it, UPS handles mine. It may be different in your state.
Again, thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
