Question
I am going to an aution tomorrow where they have one listed for sale in good condition. no model info or serial number. What should I look for and range of value? Thanks.
Answer
John,
Most of these guns were made in the 1920's. They are a bit unusual in terms of the action. There are a few around in really good condition, but most are pretty rough. The range of value can vary widely. Mechanically functional Page Lewis rifles in good condition (good bore, most of bluing intact, no cracks or chips in stock) might be worth as much as $150 but probably not much more. Model D is the most common. They also made a Model A, B and C. As for the low end, you'll have to judge by the condition of the gun and whether it is functional or not. Parts are going to be very hard to find on this one.
Hope this helps you out...
