Question
Hello, I have inherited a Western Field Shotgun. The following is stamped on it. WesternField M550CD 20 Gauge. H140006, S#?. Chambered for 2 3/4" & 3" Shells. C-LECT CHOKE. Would you beable to tell me the approximate year manufactured and todays value. This gun is very clean, it was my Fathers and he had left 29 years ago. My Grandfather has held onto it and had never fired it. He has passed and I just started getting into firearms recently purchasing a hand gun and now took this shotgun. Thank you for any help!

Answer
Hello Marc.
Your Western Field Model 550CD was manufactured by Mossberg as their Model 500C, between 1968 and 1977. The 'C' designates it as a 20 gauge. The value is as a shooter. It has a value of $125-$150.
Thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
