  First, I would like to address the caliber. Interarms imported the Mark X Viscount fitted with the Model 98 action in standard calibers plus a few magnum calibers. The .308 Norma Magnum was not one of these. The .308 Norma Magnum was a re-chamber job, using the .30-06 barreled rifle. Some of these barrels carry the .30-06 caliber stamping on the barrel with .308 Norma Mag. stamped over it. You should have the head space checked. This does not diminish the value of your rifle, as long as the gunsmith did a good job on it. Prices vary from around $200 to as high as $650.

  What kind of information would you like. You either have a Winchester Model '70', or a Remington Model '700'. Give me the serial number, and I can date it for you. If it is a Remington 700, there are letters on the barrel breach that will date it. Charles

  Winchester manufactured the Model 770 from 1969-1971. Your's was manufactured in 1969. Fjasted's Blue Book of Gun Value lists it from $220-$395. Actual values will vary according to demand. The scope is Bushnell's value line around $50-$75. The Winchester Model 770 is most ordinary, so this is probably the most information there is. If you want to pursue it further, just Google and look for blog sites like The Firing Line, etc.
