Dear Sir.
I just got a shotgun from an uncle of mine that was my Grandfathers I would like more info on the gun.
The gun is manufacterd by
Riverside Arms CO.
Chicopee Falls, Mass. U.S.A.
12 Gauge
36 IN. single barrel
I mesured the depth of the shell opening space it is 3 in. deep
On the Left side of the barrle is stamped (Berrel and Lug Forged in one piece)
The gun has an external hammer and a lever that moves sideways to open the barrel
A small screw on top just in frount of the hammer maybe to hold the firing pin.
There are two pins that go all the way threw and a screw with the head on the right side.
There is a small pin above the triger
The end plate has two screws
The wood hand grip has one screw and is 7 ?in. long.
The longest part of the stock is 13 ?
The butt plate is 5 in. long.
There is a beed on the end of the barrel and fine grooves on top of the chamber end of the barrel.
The chock opening is ?of an in.
This is all the markings and info I can think of to give you to help me.
any and all the info you can give me or whare to look would be gratly aprecated.
Cost then and now would be nice if you know also.

Hi,
You 2 3/4 inch ONLY 12 gauge single shot made by Savage/Stevens. Riverside Arms was their no frill brand sold mail catalogs like Montgomery Ward. It's the same gun Stevens single shots with less expensive plain wood; blueing not as deep, etc. The brand was around from 1920 to 1945. These very inexpensive but well made guns to put meat on your table. Same basic gun was was made for 80+ years. It was $6 to $10 new. Today its worth $25 to $125 depending on condition.
