Question
SERIAL NUMBER UNDER GRIP B57683.  HAMMERLESS.  COIL SPRING IN FRIP. SEEMS TO 32 CALIBER.  IVORY COLORED PLASTIC GRIPS?  WHAT YEAR WAS IT MADE?

Answer
Hello David.
Your Iver Johnson revolver is known as the 'Small Frame Safety Hammerless Automatic Third Model Second Variation'. Serial number B57683 with 'PAT'D. NOV.17.08. PAT'S PENDING' stamped on bottom of butt, was manufactured in 1913. Original grips were all black rubber, so your grips are replacements. These could be ordered from the factory, but all white are shown to represent 'mother of pearl' color.
Thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
