hello ,and thankyou, i have a j. stevens a&t co. 22 lr ,its a single shot double trigger , occtogon to the forearm frontend then round to barrel end, it has no pattent date on it, just the no 10 199 on barrel and under leveraction has a fancy front sight thats got a loop that will fold forward, adjustable rear sight,by sliding up steps, has kind of a marbled look on action and lever, also has a stock end big curved ornate shoulder holder w/  round ball on top and bottom  ,gun is in really good original shape,exspect its some sort of target rifle??? thankyou mike myer

Hi,
It sounds like you have a Stevens Favorite or Stevens Crackshot.
There were almost 1,000,000 of these made. These were falling block rifles.
Some where had optional sights on them. These are collectable. They were made from 1893 to 1939. Marbled look is called case harden. There were many variations. They worth $150 to $6000 depend which model and options it has. I have it looked at in person to determine the exact model and condition. Any gunsmith can do that for you. You could also attach some pictures I may be able to match it up.
