Hello Kenny.
 Your rifle was an import from England, to a company called Herter's in Waseca, Minn.. Since it was an import, the best I can do on a date would be 1960-73. It was built on a Mauser 98 action, so should be as strong as an ox. However, the stocks have been known to crack behind the receiver on some magnum rifles. This is generally caused by improper bedding of the barrel lug. It can easily be remedied by having it glass bedded by a professional gunsmith. Thank you for asking for me. Charles Gage
