what is the best to wear under the wetsuit.

Hi Alex.  

Thanks for the question about what to wear under a wetsuit.

 Remember, a wetsuit needs to fit skintight over as much as your body as possible in order to work properly.  Clothing can create gaps between you and your wetsuit which will prevent it from working as effectively as it should.  Keep in mind, also, that whatever you wear must be able to get wet.  After all, it IS a wetsuit!

Women have an advantage in that most of their swimsuits already fit quite closely to their bodies so a standard swimsuit (one or two-piece) is perfect to wear under a wetsuit.

For guys, it's a little different.  The popular board shorts or baggies don't work very well under a wetsuit since they tend to bunch up and create the gaps we were talking about earlier.  Biking shorts, kayaking shorts or the infamous "Speedo" are the best garments to wear under a websuit since they fit tightly and won't create any gaps.

Finally, it's not absolutely necessary to wear anything under a wetsuit but it might get a bit embarrassing if you need to take your wetsuit off in front of your dive buddies.   For that reason, I think you probably need to wear SOMETHING!!
