Dacor Enduro BCD
Question
I have a Dacor Enduro BCD that has only logged 20 or so dives. It still looks like NEW. On a trip this week to Cozumel I was having a small leak at the screw cover on the upper port for the manual/power inflator. The dive master got a little overzealous and tried to tighten the cap while holding on the manual inflation hose and broke damaged the hard plastic the seats to the screw cap ring and now it leaks like crazy. Will not hold any air and had to rent a BCD. It looks like all in need is the small L-piece and screw cap and the rest all tiewraps together. I have been to the dacor website to try to get the part and have emailed them with no response yet. I have not called local dive shops yet to check on a certified dacor service center but thought this would be the next logical step. I would not want to overhall my reg but feel comfortable with repairing the bcd. Any suggestions.
Answer
Eric,
I hope you got the Divemaster's contact info for reimbursement of your repair and BCD rental expenses.
I doubt Dacor will give you any information beyond the location of the nearest Dacor authorized retailer, who will be able to do the repairs you need. I cannot recommend that you attempt the repair yourself, and I don't think a retailer would be willing to supply you with the part(s) needed for the repair.
If you are not getting a reply to your emails, you could contact Dacor HQ by phone, and ask for the nearest authorized retailer: (203) 852-7079.
Hope this helps,
