Bouyancy chart

Question
Hi there, I'm returning back to scuba diving and need a bit of help. You previously mentioned that there
is a bouyancy chart of some kind in the "Padi adventures in diving" book under peek performance. Thebook that I have does not have anything there close to peak performance. I'm now guessing that my book is out of date?

If I was to look at the bottom spine of the book, it would read the following "101PDE9".
I'm guessing that would be the version number of the book?

If so could you please help me.

Oh and forgive any spelling mistakes, I'm using my iPod touch.

Answer
Sure thing Corrie.  Adventures in Diving:  mine is an older book, see back cover, product 79101, Rev, 11/05.  The chapter is titled Peak Performance Buoyancy, page 213 is a chart for what I think you mean is the Basic Weight Guidelines.  Also Chapter 2 of the PADI Open Water has some instructions on a technique to ensure you have the proper amount of weight.

Just in case, here is the table below.  Use the table to start, then the technique in the PADI manual to determine if the amount is right for you.  Be sure to readjust anytime any of these variables change for you.  I suggest to students that they keep a chart in their logbook with the various equipment and water types and how much weight was required.
