As of 2021, more than 575,000 people have scaled the peak of Mount Elbrus as per statistics gathered for mountaineering competitions held in the region. Of all expeditions on Elbrus during 2022, Russians made up about 52% while international tourists (excluding former U.S.S.R. countries) comprised close to 48%.
