What is the definition of an epic quest?

An epic quest is a challenging and usually dangerous journey undertaken by a hero or heroine to achieve a specific goal. The goal is often to obtain a valuable prize, such as a magical weapon or an elixir of life, or to defeat a powerful enemy. The quest may be long and arduous and may involve many obstacles and dangers, such as monsters, dragons, and treacherous landscapes. The hero must often overcome his own fears and weaknesses to succeed.

Epic quests are often found in mythology, literature, and folklore. Some of the most famous epic quests include the quest of the Golden Fleece by Jason and the Argonauts, the quest of the Holy Grail by King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and the quest of the One Ring by Frodo Baggins and the Fellowship of the Ring in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.
