Question
I was woundering if you could help me. On the rock wall, i tend to be stretching for hand holds. I find this a hard thing to do and often end up frustrated and have pulled a muscle, i would like to know how to improve my technique.
I would be most greatful. Ryan
Answer
Well from this i can clearly see that you are not using your legs alot. It isn't a serious matter and can be delt with by practice. All that you need to do is instead of looking where your hands should go, try to look for feet implacement more. At the end of the day, your hands are there for balance, so try an easy wall sometime and think of this as the stairs-You put your feet first then balance with your hands. You will find that when reliying on your arms you tend to work up alot of lactic acid and run out of energy quicker. Like i said this is a common problem and can be sorted out by practice and like everything hard work. Nothing is ever as hard as you think it is, you need patients, determination and when rock climbing confidence plays a big part aswell. I have many mottos, but the one that inspires me to climb higher everytime is ASPIRE TO CLIMB AS HIGH AS YOU CAN DREAM. Goooood Luck.
