Rock climbing project

Hello, I'm working on a project on the rock climbing industry.  I have been trying to find statistical information on its growth nationally and internationally for the last 20 years....without success.  I'm trying to find out how big the industry currently is, how many operators, how fast it grew, and is it still growing?  Is there one major player or is the competition fairly even? I would really appreciate any information you can provide or reference material you can direct me to.

Dear Marian,

Could you narrow this down a bit?  Are you interested in equipment manufacture?  Climbing instruction?  Climbing tourism and guided climbing?  Climbing is not a single industry and it's not useful to look at it as such.  I might be able to help if you focus a bit.
