dear john,
i jog 2 miles every other day within
25 minutes, and i would like to know if increasing
to more is good. i am 22 years and weigh 175
pounds. i put up a good sweat after two miles
and would like to know in your opinion what
and average mileage jog for me could be based on my weight and age? i just found out i only burn
226 calories on two miles and thats seems not enough. also sweating while jogging is a good
thing right? also i am a male.

How are ya marcos
First you did not mention your height so i can't tell you if your height ratio is in line.
In regards to increasing your run.I would run by time and work up to 45 min to 1hr four to five days a week. The rule of thumb is 100 calories a mile.Sweating is a good thing. It is the body ntural way of cooling it self.I asume your trying to lose weight,so you really have to look at your diet. You can not burn it all off.If you really want to speed up the process, take one work out a week and walk jog for one and a half hours. The longer your out there the fat burning process is on fire.I hope this answer your questions Marcos. If there is anything else just get in touch.

dear john,
thanks for the advice. i am 5,10 and 22 years and weigh 175 pounds
and male and would like to ( if there is) a average mileage
based on my description? also i have always jogged with my mind
on completing the amount of miles, so if ( in your advice) if
changing to time is the way to go, what could the mileage be
within 45 to an hour for me, and some tips on starting off (run by time)? because i
run 2 miles within 25 minutes and and really work up a sweat.
Answer
Marcos
Your height is weight fine. There is no average miles for your height weight. It is all based on how long you have been at it.You just have to listen to your body as you increase your milaege.Marcos don't worry about the mileage.Focus your mind on completeing the time you decide to run.If you really want to no the miles you ran use your car odometer and drive the course you completed.Starting off, just run confortable and in control and you will befine.
