started running now gaining weight
Question
Hi! I played soccer in HS but haven't ran since then, I'm now 22. I just started a running program (a weekly 5k with a club, and 2-3 miles 4 other days a week) I've been doing this for about 7 weeks now and my stamina is constantly improving and I'm just wondering how long it takes to see weight loss results. I have actually gained nearly 10 pounds and don't feel like I've changed any eating habits. I'm a pretty light eater all around. I know I am gaining muscle but I don't feel like I'm losing fat...or weight!
Advice?
Answer
Hi Gina
Your only putting in aprox.13 miles. You will burn about 100cal a mile for the week. That is 1300 cal. With this little bit of running you have to make sure your diet is well balanced. Not a lot of room for mistakes.Everybody loses at different rates based on starting level, body fat level.I would recommend you have your body fat taken with calipers to give you a base line to work with.Health clubs would probably have one. This is the key measurement you need Gina. Also you can jot down what you eat for a couple of weeks and the calorie content to get a more accurate count. If you have other questions just get in touch.
The very best
