Running Technique

Question
I'm in the Army and a standard run for me is between 2-5 miles. I've never been a "good" runner. Fastest I've ever clocked 2 miles is just under 15 minutes. A lot of "natural" runners tell me I run very heavy. I'm deafening on treadmill, apparently, and they seem to think that if I can run "lighter" I'll move quicker and burn less energy. Any idea what they're talking about and, what can I do to improve my technique?

Answer
Hi Travis
I know what there trying to say,but they really don't understand the subject. We all are gifted by our genetic make up from the guy up above, but what you do with it is your choice and the direction you want to take it.Running smooth light with a nice relaxed rhythm takes time and training and some people will just not get it and it is not there fault. To improve just get out door and run and be consistent as often as you can.Just don't worry about technique.Over time you will see a difference. As long as you enjoy it and it is your choice of exercise it doesn't matter how you run as long as your running and staying healthy.

All the best

John
