Question
QUESTION: Hi i am Rohit 23 years old(male). I weigh around 59 to 60 kg and 172 cm tall. I think i am underweight and want to gain weight. I am regular working man so i don't get time to go to gym at evening because i am too tired at that time. I come from office and just relax on bed. Can i gain weight by jogging/running in the morning and taking more diet than normal ? Please suggest
ANSWER: Hi Rohit
First take away the focus from your weight.Certain cultures have a different body size such as slim and lean and as Americans medium to fat.The main focus you have to do is focus on your program. It is quite possible that your not eating a very well balanced diet and getting the necessary exercise. The question you ask is if you can take care of your situation by running in the morning and Maximize your diet in the morning, and i say go for it and just feed your body what it craves at the end of your effort and distance. It is quite simple......You have to burn off more than you take in.In response to a program to increase weight running yes it will happen and over time with a great well balanced meal over time and consistency.Rohit i hope i have been clear in my translation of the program and information. If you have any other questions just get in touch with me Rohit.
All the best

QUESTION: Thanks for the Answer Mr John. But i think i didn't make my situation clear. I want to gain weight as simple as that. Of course i can do it simply by taking more diet but i don't want to do that because i want a shaped body as well. That is why i thought for running. I am confused because some of my friends say that by running instead of gaining weight you will lose weight. So my question is can i do running in the morning and than take more diet than normal and get a shaped body and gain weight as well. Kindly look in my matter.
Thanks,
Rohit
Answer
Hi Rohit
As long as you get a well balanced diet running is not going to make you lose weight just reduce your body fat if it is above the norm.Good body fat for you would be 10 to 15 percent. To gain weight with out adding fat you must develop a total body weight program to build muscle. You will gain some muscle and a little weight running, but to gain real weight you need a weight program.Perhaps you can buy a set of weights for home so you can eliminate going to the gym.I hope this is clear Rohit.
