sore tendon

Question
I hurt the tendon on the back of my left heel. 8 weeks ago... It is 1/4 better. I have been going to a podiatrist. They do the ultrasound, once did the shot of cortozone. Ouch, never again! Gave ma prescription for a muscle relaxer. I also take a pain pill, non prescription, at night. Told me to do stretching exercises and ice. Still hurts a lot, especially when I first wake up in the morning. Can hardly walk. Better during the day, but back to a lot of pain by the end of the day. Can you give me some suggestions what else I can do? And, why does it take so long for tendons to heal?
Answer
Hi William
I'm guessing you slightly tore your tendon since you didn't say what specifically what you did.Any how, take this seriously and do not rush the healing proccess.Everybody heals differently. It seems to me you are doing all the right things, and i don't have any other ideas for you, except to give it time and again don,t rush it.You will heal over time.Just don't do the thing that got you in trouble in the first place.I'm assuming your a runner, but you did not mention it.
To a speedy recovery
John
