knee stiffness

Question
I am a  memeber of a local health club in my area.  I normally do a 30 min jog on the treadmill before and after weight lifting and ab work.  Before I weightlift, I jog at a 4.7 on the treadmill and after I jog at a 4.9.  I have been doing this for a very long time.  I am talking like years.  I recently changed shoes and that's where all the problems started.  I am having severe knee pain in my right leg.  But it comes and goes.  In my left leg, there is stiffness and some pain in my calf and a little above the ankle.  Do you think a change in shoes is the problem.  I have been running like that for years without any problems, as soon as I switch shoes the problem starts.  I should return back to my original shoes?  What can I do to relieve the pain and start back running.  I love to run on the treadmill.  When I work out, I love to build up a good sweat.

Answer
Hi kevin
It is very likley your shoes. When you get new shoes,it takes time to break them in.Your foot plant is not used to the stifness.I think if you are patience it will work out.You could go back to your original shoes and alternate.Running on a treadmill doesn't nesesitae much in a shoe,so i don't know why you changed. You can ice the areas that bother you after you get home, and i recomend 500mg of vitimin C with your 3 meals a day to strenghthen conective tissue and tendons and cells.Just be patience Kevin and you will 100 Persent soon.

To your success

John
