hip pain after jogging

Question
I am 38 years old and have been jogging for around 15 years although very irregularely.
I have got accustomed to muscle starin and a mild knee pain but this week after having a great 20 minute jog (after about half year break) and short pull up exercise I started feeling slight pain on the bone in the hip area.
It was directly on the bone and felt more accute when being touched. It didn't seem to bother me while walking and didn't feel accute the next day . I resumed my jogging and after three days of exercise in a row the feeling intensified and happens even during ordinary pull ups. Have I dislocated anything, or even possibly fractured ?
Should I get an x-ray ? the pain seems to stem from one, smal spot on the bone on the right hip.
It feels painful now when touched. There is no pain otherwise even when crossing legs. The pain occurs slightly when walking now. Can it be a sign of inflamation ? How should I treat it ?
Answer
Hi patrick
I think do to your length of inactivity that if you start a good overall light streching program covering all body parts.Low back, hips, hamstrings, quads, upper back,etc.etc. that you will see a big difference and probably eliminate your situation.I really think it is soft tissue inflamation.I don't think an xray is nessary or a doctor.Start taking 500mg of vitimin c with your 3 meals a day. This is like gold for athletes for tissues, cell, tendons, connective tissue. Also start iceing it to reduce inflamation. You can also take a couple of epson salt baths. You get the salts in you pharmacy.Put 2 to 3 cups in a hot bath and just soak for about 20 to 30 minutes. You will love this.Last get more consistent with your program plus the light streching.See how this works for you and get back to me and let me know Patrick.
best to you
John
