Question
Hi John. I have taken up jogging a few months ago (I am 40, target weight and quite fit), and although I am really enjoying the activity, I am finding that my lower legs are aching uncomfortably when I jog. The pain seems to surround the ankle area, specifically the outside and inside ankle region - not tingling, not cramps, just ache. I wear good trainers and am jogging on concrete for 30-40 minutes daily. Is there anything you can suggest to help me alleviate this pain? Thanks so much!
Answer
Hi Yvonne
You have just started,so your msculature, tendons, tissue, connective tissue has to adapt to the new overload program.I would suggest breaking up your daily runs with some full rest or active rest days for about 7 to 10 days so your body catches up.No rest,no growth. You can also start taking 500mg vit.c with your 3 meals a day.Like gold for runners and active athletes. The other gold program is epson salt baths 1 to 2 times in 7 to 10 days. The daily program is,ice, ice, ice. My program for all level of athletes is very simple.Three steps managed properly with constant tweaking to the higher levels of training of your choice and event.Learn the science behind this simple program and personal records are yours Yvonne.
