running toes go numb

2016/7/22 10:12:15

Question
i recently in the past two months started running on a treadmill 3 mile or more my toes hurt or fall asleep i have to curl them up in my shoe.. i have tried new shoe, inserts, arch supports , what am i doing wrong

Answer
Joyce,

It may just be your form. Treadmill running is quite different than road running, and puts extra stress on the muscles by your shins and calves. I used to have numbness and soreness in the lowerleg if I ran on treadmills. DOn't know exactly why other than you are using different muscles and form, and it may put pressure on a nerve causing the numbness. Sorry I can't be of more help.
