Question
Hi there... i am a rookie american football player and i want to improve my speed, stamina and endurance... i jog twice a week for round about 3 miles in total but i do not see the difference when i get down to the pitch and play football... i have seen a slight difference but it is not that great of a difference so could you help me out please???
I would be grateful
thank you

Answer
Buzz,

First of all you should try to jog at least 4 days a week. Twice a week won't cut it for endurance. For the speed aspect, you need sprint training of some kind. Twice a week after your run, you should try doing 10 X 100m (not all out, but fast) with a 100m jog between each. This will work on not only speed, but strength as well.
