Stree fracture

Question
Hi,
I am 19 and last October suffered a stress fracture to the second metatarsal. I didn't rest properly and was suffering so much went and saw a specialist. I was put in an air-cast boot for 6 weeks. CT scans showed healing and I started walking without the boot. I refractured it again! I have been back in the boot for 4 weeks but still in a lot of pain. I tried doing 2k on an ergo yesterday not using my feet and am in a lot of pain today! Can you suggest any thing to promote bone heeling? Have you seen other injuries which have reoccurred like this? Did they eventually re-heal? It will be a year since this first happened and I am getting more and more depressed with it. I am at uni and can't go out with friends or walk round campus much. Swimming is too painful even with a pullbouy.
Many thanks for any advice.
Answer
Hi Rosie
The diet plays a role in healing, but not at the speed you would like. The only other exercise you could do would be an upper body ergometer.Cybex is the best one out there.Call around your area for clubs and pt clinics and possible pro sports team org.In time it will heal rosie. The body takes it own sweet time.I hope this helps. If you have other questions just get in touch.
To a speedy recovery
