Weight gain

2016/7/22 10:11:09

Question
I am a 46 y/o female that have been running on a regular basis for over a year.  Lately I have been constantly gaining weight and clothes are fitting tighter and I dont think it is muscle gain.  I run approximately 22 to 27 miles a week. I dont count calories, but I do eat reasonable.  Is there something that I can do different to help with weight lost and any possible reason that I am gaining wght.

Answer
My suggestion is to start watching the calories.  If you are gaining weight, and running that much, than you must be eating more calories than you think.  Eating 'reasonable' but eating a little more than what you need, over time, can lead to weight gain, too, even with all the exercise that a person can do.  I suggest using www.fitday.com as a tool to see what your daily calorie intakes are on average over a period of 3-4 days.  This will give you a better outlook on your total diet & exercise plans.

I hope this helps you well,
