half-marathon

Question
Dear Dr. DeHart(or is it Mr.),
I am running a half-marathon this Sunday.  Lately, I've been training a pretty good amount; maybe about 35 miles a week- the most i ran ever was 9 miles.  i ran 2.5 miles this morning (quick) an ive got cross country practice tonight.  However, what distance should i run and in what time to know that i am in good shape to finish (you can forget the time if you'd like).  I'm getting antsy, and I want to be able to finish.
Thank you!
Saul

Answer
Hi Saul
If you are running a half marathon sunday, the only recommendation i have is just do some easy running with some strides at the end and take saturday off.About the race, use the first half to just stay confortable well within in your self.At this time you should have a good solid idea as to how you feel and if you have to ajust the pace.If you focus on staying confortable and ajusting the pace acordingly if you feel you are getting tired thru out the race i think you will do fine.Let me know how you did.Any other questions just get in touch Saul.

All the best

John
