Question
Hi rick. I am 40 & have not run since i was 15 and at school. I decided to change my life & get fitter. I have been running/walking for 3 weeks now. I run 3-4 times a week early in the morning. I can't run very much at all, maybe 30-60 seconds then 2 minutes walking. I just don't seem to be improving much at all. I think this just might be me being impatient. Is this normal & what improvements should i expect.

Answer
It's normal, because you have had a 25 year absence from running on a consistent basis.  So, if you alternate the walking & the running, and gradually increase the running while decreasing the walking over time, you'll end up running just fine.
