Internal organs

Question
John
Other than the heart and lungs, do you know of any studies or actual runners that have noticed improved function of other internal organs?
I have a friend that has poor digestion from a diet of junk foods, and he also has gallstones. He is starting a cardio program on an elliptical, but I want to get him running outside with me.
I am thinking the increased blood flow and bouncing might act as an internal massage?

Answer
Hi Bud
I don't no of any specific studies, but there is tons of information on the health benefits of running including your friends situations.I personally would reccommend running to eliptical.Make sure he stays well hydrated all day for the gallstones.

All the best

John
