What do you think?

Question
You probably hate people who say this, but I want to run a marathon. I only want to run one...just to say I did it. I even have one in mind - it is at the Witchita Mountain Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma (a run through the wilderness ?nice and serene with no cars, etc).
The question is, can I do it? My mind tells me I can, but I抦 uncertain if my body will allow it without additional training. Thus, here are my stats and I抣l let you give me your opinion.
I run 5K twice a week. My average time is between 20 and 23 minutes...depending on how rough my day was at work ;). I can run 10K without batting an eyelash and pretty much maintain the same pace. That being said, this is slightly less than a 4th of what I will need to endure. I抦 33 and in better-than-average shape.
I could try running 42K and see what happens, but I really haven抰 had the desire or ambition to run for that long (hence the desire to only run a marathon once =D).
So what do you think? Do you think I would make it, or would I probably keel over at 20K because I simply didn抰 know what I was getting myself into? Now, assuming I won抰 keel over, can you offer some advice that might help me prep for a 1-time run?
Thanks a bundle for the advice!!
Answer
If you are asking if you can run it based on your current training only....I definitely would not recommend trying it. However, if you did some proper training, you should have no problem. Training requires long runs, proper diet, etc. If you want to commit, you will be fine.
