45 minute runs

Question
I have been running on my treadmill for 30 minutes every weekday morning before work since January.I do one set of basic weights after this.
Combined with lowering my carbs and total a caloric intake I lost an inch off my belly.
I have been 'stuck' however for the last three weeks with no weight loss.
I really cant eat much less,or do any more weights (I am getting sore).
A friend says I have hit a plateau and need to increase my cardio to a MINIMUM 60 or better yet 90 minutes!
Seems like a lot.
Your thoughts?
Answer
The problem here is that you're doing the same thing over & over, & expecting something different. Its like pouring out Corn Flakes into a bowl every morning for breakfast, and one day you are disappointed because you wanted Lucky Charms instead of Corn Flakes to come out.
By doing the same amount of steady-state exercise on a very frequent basis, you are setting yourself up for failure. Your cardio doesn't need to be a minimum of 60 to 90 minutes, that is an out-dated way of looking at exercise. If you follow that logic, and went up to 90 minutes, what's next? 100, 120, 150 minutes? You can't just keep adding time & distance. The main factor that must change must be INTENSITY of the exercise within the same durations, and alternating those efforts each workout.
The best I can give you is reading my free guide, The Mini-Max Method, at http://speeddialcoach.com/minimax.pdf
