running/walking shoes

Question
former college football player has aging knees (51) that often ache bothered often on long walks....jogging occasionally results in same situation. What types of walking/running shoes would provide the best support and help reduce the ache?

Answer
Hi Guy
Just any comfortable running shoe such as nike, addidas, new balance, assics, saccony,Mizuno. To fix those knees i would strongly urge you to start some rehabbing.I would recommend stationary biking to correct any alignment and tracking and possible some chondromalacia problems 3 to 5 times a week for 40 minutes along with some leg extensions to strengthen and support the propper tracking. You probably have a fair amount of chondromalacia which is quite common especially in ex athletes, but easily corrected with consistent rehabbing and a great deal of patience.Any other questions just get in touch Guy.

All the best

John
