Question
I started running early this year. I was getting sorness in one foot at the arch/ball of the foot. I've since been fitted for asics trainers. It has improved but is still there is there anything i can do to stop this?

Answer
Hi, Sandra

You may want to include new insoles in your shoes to ensure that your arches are receiving the proper support.  Make sure you get those from a running specialty store since they'll best be able to figure out what you need.

Also, be sure to stretch your calf muscles on both legs before and after your runs and any other time you feel the soreness.  That should help.

If it gets worse or you start to feel like that after long periods of sitting or when you get up in the morning, go to a doctor because then it could be plantar fascitis and they can help you with more specific treatments.

But try the insoles and the stretching first.
