Jogging & Running - vomiting after running a race
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Expert: John DeHart - 4/25/2008
Mr. DeHart,
My 17 yr old daughter for the past two track seasons has has begun vomiting after her 300 meter races. She is weak, shaky, a little dizzy and has stomach pain. She has eaten a little about an hour before she is scheduled to run at a meet. At yesterdays meet she ate an egg & cheese sandwich on an english muffin and a few wheat thins. To drink she only consumed h2o. Her warms up well before her race, however always seems to feel the above conditions after her race.
We have been in contact with her athletic trainer at the school, and he can't seem to pinpoint the problem. My guess after reading your informative information may be related to her diet and calorie intake or lack there of.
I appreciate your advice in advance,
Diane Duffy, NH
