Knee Pain=Job Loss

Question
Where to begin...well, my dream job is to become a police officer. In order to do so I need to get through a 3 1/2 month training period which includes 5 days a week of moderate running (1-5 miles pus sprints)! I used to run 15-20 miles a week in my early 20's. I stopped because of knee pain. I think my current job has deteriorated my knees even more (I'm am exotic dancer). My knee grinds when I bend it and occasionally pops. If I sit with bent knees it takes a while for me to unfold them. If I were to run a few miles I become crippled, as if there was a vice grip clamping down on my knees. Sometimes I feel a pinching pain on the outer sides of my knees. I have never felt like my knees were about to give out on me. I do leg strengthening exercises almost daily at the gym. I do the StairMaster for 30 minutes as well and strangely that has never bothered my knees. Its just the running that gets to me. I am in desperate need of advise. I pray there is a way to get myself through cadet training. If I cannot run, I cannot live out my dream of becoming a cop.
Thank you for your help. I truly appreciate it.

Answer
Hi Rebecca
I believe base on what your telling me that you have a tracking and alignment situation.I have found out over many years that the stationary bike for aprox 45 minutes on med tension high 90rpm as often as you can really does a great job in correcting this problem. You just have to have a great deal of patience and consistent workout schedule.Let me know how it goes.Any other questions just get in touch.
All the best
John
