Question
Weight: 236
Height: 5'10"
Hi, I am a truck driver. I have had a hard time finding food to keep in my truck. I get tired of everything. I found at the supermarket these instant rice and I love them. I can prepare it in the microwave so it is very convenient. I eat this rice twice a day and I eat a can of tuna with it. So far that's what my "diet" consists of. My question is: I eat two packages of rice and two cans of tuna a day, each package of rice has 2.5 servings. Each serving contains 270 calories, 60 calories from fat, 46g carbs, 740mg sodium. Is it posible to lose weight eating this? How much exercise is necesary to compensate with what I eat?
Thank you.
Answer
Hi Jorge
Losing weight is a very simple formula. You have to find a balance of exercise that gives you the ability to burn of more than you absorb and it takes a fair amount of experimenting to settle on a regime that works for you.I don't know how much of your 2361bs is fat versus muscle,so what i would recommend is to get a base line to work with and have your body fat measured with calipers only.I would recommend you take on a running program and if need be start out with walk jog until your able to run all the time from the start and work your way gradually up to the point where your able to handle 45 minutes 4 days a week. The very most important important thing is you have to have a great, great, great deal of patience with consistent workouts.Running burns aprox 100calories per mile and 3500cal equals 1 pound,so you see you have your work cut out for you Jorge. If you have any other questions just get in touch.
All the best
John
