Children jogging

2016/7/22 10:08:22

Question
I am trying to get an idea as to a safe age for children to begin jogging. I have an 8 year old son, and he has expressed interest in joining me on the trail, but I would like to find more info about safe age and such. Thanks

Answer
Hi Tim
I see no problem with your son joining you for a little run from time to time. The biggest problem with kids of this age there body needs time to mature and to much stress on the musculature, connective tissue, tendons, etc could do some long term damage if not properly supervised. There is plenty of time if he seems to want to take it to the next level. If you have any other questions Tim just get in touch or call if you like.

Enjoy your run
with your son
