vomitting after running always

2016/7/22 10:07:58

Question
dear john,
after every training session,I vomit quite excessively for 10-15 minutes, mainly liquid, but there are small solid parts. I eat between 2-3 hours before running, and do not understand why this happens.
regards

Answer
Hi Oliver
I don't know what your eating but eating certain foods can really mess you up like meat products and dairy.I would allow 4 hours before and just use a sports bar or some small easily digested food snack in between.I copied an answer from a previous client with similar situation as yours for you to check.Let me know if you have any other questions Oliver.

All the best

John

Answer:    Hi Diane
It is two things. The first is the diet and when she eats before the race. That egg and cheese on a english muffin with wheat thins was the culprit, and you have to allow 31/2 to 4hrs before race. You don't want to eat any heavy protein sources.Second thing is toward the end of the race with food not properly digested. The factors probably responsible include:decreased blood flow to the intestine and retention of food in the stomach during running;build up of acid and metabolic products in the blood;and over activity of the vagus and sympathic nervous systems which stimulates the vomiting center. No serious consequence for her.She just tried to squease a few more seconds in the closing 75 meters. If you have other questions just get in touch.
