Running-shin pain

2016/7/22 10:07:13

Question
I have been a runner(mostly road) for about 2 years.  This past July I experienced what I thought was shin splint pain.  I took off 2 months of running and no relief.  My physician thought it was my back, my physical therapist treated me for several months for pain due to pronation.  I have bought new shoes, orthotics...worked on core exercises, and no relief. I have pain when I am sitting, walking, biking.... Could it be something else I am missing?  I appreciate any advice you can provide.  I really don't want to give up running.

Answer
Hi Kathy
Most shin splints are located either on the frontal part or in the lower part of the inside ankle.I think your right if it is located in one of those places.I really don't think it is anything else.If you would like to call me here in albuquerque NM from 6am to 8pm any time i can ask you more question and give you a little more clarity and drill down further for other options.Just go to my site for number on contact page.

All the best

John
